The only way to reach Cape Verde is to fly. There are numerous flights from Europe. On arrival in Sal, it is about a 20 minutes taxi ride to Santa Maria.

If you cannot find a direct flight, you can fly to Lisbon with TAP, the Portuguese national airline that operates flights from major European capitals. From the Portuguese capital, there is one flight a day to Sal (two flights a day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays).
